Are free PS3 game downloads really worth your while? Sure, you save money and you get it onto your PS3 eventually, but at the same time you're exposing yourself to virus infections, serious computer security threats and wasted bandwidth. I know firsthand how frustrating it is to have been afflicted with every single one of these problems, back in the day when I thought it was still a good idea to get free downloads from torrents or free sites.
Why Not Use Free PS3 Game Downloads?
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the idea of free PS3 game downloads. I'm not a big fan of enriching Sony or any other entertainment company, I can tell you that. But the problem I have is in the execution of this idea. Sure, you can download from torrents and free sites, but are you really considering the risks involved that will pose a very serious risk of damaging your computer? Luckily, I've never caught a virus in the short time I was using such means, but a friend of mine did and he was very, very sorry that he even tried.
You see, torrents are particularly prone to being hacked and infected with viruses and spyware that will slow down your computer at best, and steal your sensitive personal information at worst. This is a serious risk. Plus, even if the files you get are "clean", there are many dud copies floating around that will waste a few gigabytes of your bandwidth at a time if you get caught out with them. It's the same with free sites as well, in fact it's worse because free sites don't have the budget for good servers and they get bogged down by the number of people downloading at any given time.
What's A Better Option To Free PS3 Game Downloads
Instead of wasting your time with free PS3 game downloads, you're far better off investing a little bit of money in a paid service that will give you unlimited downloads. With such a paid service, you can download all the PS3 games to your heart's content but instead of paying per game like on Sony's network, you pay a one time subscription fee and you're covered for life. And you'll get all the latest games within weeks of release, such as Final Fantasy, Fifa 12 and Battlefield 3 to name a few. So what are you waiting for?
