Marvel Ultimate Alliance
My Rating: 7/10
The basic story idea of this game is to group up a bunch of the Marvel Comic heroes that have no business fighting with each other, and repeatedly punch, punch, punch their way through the different levels. This is one of the major downfalls of the game. Repeated level designs, repeated enemies level after level, and of course a repeated attack plan. Punch, Kick, Jump!!! Wow exciting..
The graphics for this game are great, very impressive. Hold on, I might take that statement back. I own this game on the XBOX 360, and the PS2 systems. The XBOX games graphics are great. Very detailed, and the video clips are cool also. PS2 on the other hand, is not that appealing. The details are missing, and wow effect is missing. Another stupid thing about the PS2 version is that you dont get the same available Marvel Comic Heroes to play with. Off the top I cant think of who, but I know its about 3 missing people. Bullocks..
The camera view is a cool idea. Its an overhead view of everything. Sometimes I do wish you could zoom in closer to the action, but of course you cant. The controls are simple, the basic set up for a game of this kind. Controls so simple monkeys could figure it out for their banana reward. Even though there are 8 buttons on the XBOX controller, there is only the need for one, punch, punch, punch, kick, ZZZZZZ.
My advise for you on this game, is to rent the game before you buy it. Sure you can buy it for $20 now, but do you really need another game on the wall that you know you will never play? My friend and I beat the game within a few days, playing on and off. Once you beat the game there is no point to playing it. Unless you want to replay the levels again just for the hell of it.
