This is my personal (not a professional) gamer inFAMOUS game review.infamous is the first game SuckerPunch has released on PS3. You may recognize the company name, as they are the makers of the SlyCooper series. The games main character is Cole McGrath who, based on the choices you make during game play, can either be a hero or hellion. It begins with a man narrating from a hospital bed, describing the events that landed him there. A quiet town on a normal night, and rather predictably, a horrible disaster occurs. A giant electrical explosion flashes through Empire City with our hero right at ground zero.Looting, murder, and general chaos quickly follows and the government seals off the city to contain the disaster and "plague".Cole begins to learn the after affect of his near-death experience is the ability to store and control electricity to use for either good or evil. The game can be beaten in 20 hours or less if you just breeze right through the storyline. However, lots more storyline, fun, and abilities await those who explore the three islands of Empire City and complete side quests. The game play is wonderfully smooth, controls easy to use, and the extremely detailed map is huge. Three whole islands to run, scale and leap around(which is profoundly entertaining in itself)! The visuals effects are awesome, and I actually like the Repo-man style comic scenes. The only complaints I had throughout the game were the dominatrix telling you what to do can be a little annoying at times, some of the missions are repetitive, and jumping off buildings can sometimes be a challenge as Cole just loves sticking to anything he can on the way down.Ive seen many reviews give this game 5 stars, but I am a true critic at heart and it is almost impossible for me to believe a game is a perfect. I will give it four stars, though. And say that this game is an excellent addition to the PS3 library. I personally am very happy to see this library improving, as it actually makes it worthwhile to own a PS3.The ending was quite spectacular in my opinion. I did pretty much rush through the game and did only a couple side missions, though. I also chose the path of good. Each path receives different abilities and weapons, and completing side missions gives you more abilities and reveals more of the back-story for you. I havent heard or read that each path gives a different ending, but I the suspicion it does. So I will most definitely be playing through this one again!
