Assassins Creed 2 PS3 Game Review - Entertainment - Video Games

Created by UbiSoft Montreal, "Assassin's Creed 2" has a much smoother feel, with the innovation of a more detailed and attractive display. The sequel picks up right where the first game left off. Once again, you are Desmond. You have just broken out of the labs, and have moved to another location- dropping back into the virtual world in an attempt to discover the secrets of your DNA. Your ultimate goal is to learn to become a master assassin in the real world.

Many additional mission quests- and side missions as well- enhance the entertainment of the game as a whole. Spending too much time on the side missions, however, may prove to distract you from your primary quest. While they may be a lot of fun, don't forget about the game's primary objectives.

The vast array of weaponry and armor make for battle sequences that never get boring. You may just find yourself purchasing them all- at some point- just to see the rich variety of gory kill sequences within the game.

The game also has its own monetary system. You are rewarded with cash stipends after every mission completed. In addition to better game play than the last installment, the main character's abilities have also been improved. Desmond can now swim; which comes in handy, and gives the game a bit more fun.

The soundtrack is remarkably better. You really feel like you're in 15th century Italy. If you didn't find the voiceovers believable in "Assassin's Creed 1", you'll be much more satisfied with the voice-acting in the sequel. "Assassins creed 2" is a very story-line driven game, however, so if you didn't like that aspect of the last installment, you may be disappointed with this latest version, as well.

Unfortunately, the controls could have been designed a bit better. I found myself jumping from place to place because of flawed maneuvering, and found myself wondering when I'd be back in control.

Overall, "Assassin's Creed 2" is a solid game. In my book, a "9 out of 10" takes no exaggeration for this masterpiece. It's truly worth your money.
